BUSINESSES in Salisbury are being urged to get involved with Salisbury Fashion Week 2014 (SFW14).

Organised by JAS Hair Group and Ladies who Love...Events, the team are busy pulling together events including a vintage fashion show and afternoon tea at Salisbury Cathedral.

Sponsored by Allum and Sidaway, Hox Brasserie, Parkwood, Inspire Orthodontics, Mark Jones Eye Care and with support from Salisbury BID, SFW14 will be launched on September 25 at City Hall, Salisbury, with Runway: The Launch, and there will be events running until October 1.

A variety of local retailers will be involved in the launch night catwalk shows including Laura Ashley, Jigsaw, Regent Tailoring, Repertoire, OSOsilver, Anokhi, Beulah’s Vintage Attic, Allum & Sidaway and Mark Jones Eye Care.

Other events include a lecture with fashion historian Dr Benjamin Wild on the subject of Sir Cecil Beaton and his fashionable life on the Friday night at Leaden Hall School and, on Saturday afternoon, a vintage fashion show and afternoon tea party with live music from Sticky Toffee Jazz in the south cloister at Salisbury Cathedral.

Local shops and businesses will be running special promotions throughout the week and the organisers are inviting businesses that haven’t already submitted an offer or promotion to get involved.

Catherine Dunning and Jayne Prigent, who co-founded Salisbury Fashion Week in 2011, want to involve as many local businesses as possible this year, not just those that are fashion-related.

They are especially keen to attract pubs, cafés, restaurants, hotels, all shops and health, fitness and beauty businesses.

Tickets for the Runway launch event are on special early bird offer priced at £15, available on 01722 330913 or salisburyfashionweek.co.uk.
