THE Cauldron of Cerridwen, a Wiccan coven from Upavon, will host a Pagan remembrance ceremony on Saturday at Avebury Henge at noon, to mark the 100th anniversary of the Great War, and to remember those that paid the ultimate sacrifice.
The ceremony will be fairly traditional, with poetry and prose and personal accounts from the period. There will be a twominute silence with Last Post and Reveille, and following the ceremony a wreath will be laid at the village war memorial.
There are many Pagan servicemen and women currently serving, and many more in the veteran community, and this is one of the first of these types of ceremonies to take place.
It is hoped that this may become a regular occurrence in November each year for Remembrance Day.
