TWO Salisbury men have been arrested on suspicion of assault after a 20-year-old man was attacked in the city centre and left needing surgery.

The victim was outside of Debenhams in Blue Boar Row at about 3.20am on July 25 when he was attacked by two men.

The suspects were part of a larger group that had been drinking in the city centre. The attack spilled into the Market Place and the victim was left with facial injuries which required surgery.

Two men, aged 18 and 20, were arrested and released on police bail pending further inquiries. Witnesses are asked to contact PS Dean Garvin of Salisbury CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
