SALISBURY-based adventurer Jo Bradshaw is gearing up for her biggest challenge yet – climbing Mount Everest.

Her work as an outdoor instructor has already led her to take on some fearsome challenges.

Last year she became only the third British woman to scale the world’s eighth highest Mountain Manasul in the Himalayas, but says tackling the world’s highest mountain will push her endurance to the limit.

Ms Bradshaw is planning to raise money for the charity Place2Be, which provides school-based mental health support.

Ms Bradshaw is currently in the Alps acclimatising to the altitude and she’ll be going out to the Himalayas next spring.

She wrote on her website: “I am fully aware of the risks, the hardship, the fear, the endurance, and the physical and mental strength needed to go the distance on a two-month expedition.”

She already has her climbing expenses for the trip covered, which means 100 per cent of the money she raises through sponsorship will go to the cause.
