A SALISBURY rugby player has completed his challenge of ten marathons in ten days in 56 hours and 35 minutes for the RFU Injured Players Foundation.
Josh Green, pictured, has so far raised £6,940 for charity after setting out from Liverpool on August 21 and ten days later finished on Salisbury’s High Street as ‘a broken man’.
He decided to do the challenge after playing in a charity sevens tournament for a former Bishop Wordsworth’s pupil who had broken his neck playing rugby.
He said: “Having set off fast on the first marathon, I paid the price over the next two, suffering from tired legs.
“However, it was on the fourth marathon that the pain in my feet rose to be unbearable, and I was forced to walk a large part of this marathon.
“Yet, thanks to incredible support from family and friends, and amazingly generous donations from all, I broke the challenge down, bit by bit.”
