THE Amesbury Mental Health Support Group held an event at Antrobus House to mark World Mental Health Day on Friday.
It was attended by people from far and wide, including Balabhadra, a Hare Krishna monk.
Peter Brown, a member of the group, set up two years ago, said: “The Rt Hon Norman Lamb MP, Minister for Care and Support, clearly stated recently that there should be equality in provision between those with mental ill-health and those with physical illhealth.
“Given that central government have now recognised this disparity, it is hoped that in future there will be more help forthcoming from Wiltshire Council and the Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group to provide a centre for those needing help, care and support with mental health problems in our locality.”
The group meets weekly in the Visitors’ Centre in Stonehenge Walk (opposite Hair By Joanna) on Thursday afternoons from 2pm-5pm.
Contact Ruth on 01980 652010 with any enquiries.
A warm welcome is assured.
