A NEW cookery group has started in Salisbury aimed at the carers of people with dementia.

The free course is being run by the Alzheimer’s Society, in association with The Pantry Partnership, and seeks to help carers provide nutritious meals.

Organiser Emma Brown said: “We’re aiming to raise awareness of the importance of nutritious meals.

“There are six sessions and each one includes a cookery demonstration and a shared meal.”

The Carers’ Cookery group, which began last week, is funded by Wiltshire Council and runs for six weeks from 10.30am to 1pm at St Thomas’ House in St Thomas’ Square, Salisbury. People with dementia are also invited to attend the group.
