A PENSIONER is in hospital with broken bones after being hit by a car while crossing the road.
The 77-year-old pedestrian was hit by a blue Peugeot 206 at around 7.20pm on Wednesday as he crossed Wilton Road near to St Paul’s Roundabout in Salisbury.
The victim, from Salisbury, was taken to Salisbury District Hospital with multiple fractures.
He was later transferred to Southampton General Hospital in a critical condition.
His condition has since been downgraded to stable.
The driver stopped at the scene and no arrests have been made.
Police accident investigators closed the road for five hours on Wednesday night.
