AN artisan coffee shop and free-to-use community space will open at the Tesco Extra store in Salisbury on Monday, as part of a multi-million pound investment to improve the shopping experience for customers.
The changes to the store on Southampton Road include new services such as a pizzeria, snacking counter and Virgin Holiday concession.
Customers will also be able to enjoy a new-look health and beauty department and a Florence & Fred boutique with more ranges available in store.
The 600 sq ft community space will be open to local groups within the community to use for a variety of activities from baby yoga to zumba classes. The free-to-use facility will be coordinated by the store's community champion Gilbert Scammell, and come with tea and coffee making facilities, computers with internet access and furniture including soft play mats.
“We are delighted to be able to create this facility for the Salisbury community and hope the versatile space will offer something for everyone,” said Gilbert.
The store will be officially re-launched on Monday with an official ribbon cutting at 10am by local charity the John McNeill Opportunity Centre, nominated to receive a £500 donation as part of the re-launch celebrations.
