Sophie Bennett, will have the costume she designed go on sale at Morrisons next year, but in the meantime she will have her very own costume to wear at Halloween this year.

The competition was for children aged between two to 13 and asked youngsters to submit their designs for a scary Halloween outfit.

Sophie’s witch with a difference design includes a sparkly spider’s web collar and a black, green and white striped skirt, complete with spider accessories.

Her mum Sam said: “She likes making dresses so we decided to enter the competition.

“It was nice to do because we got to spend a lot of time together and she would ask me for my opinion on different ideas.

“When she found out that she won Sophie was really excited and has two Halloween parties to go to at the weekend.

“I think she would definitely like to be a designer when she grows up because she loves dresses.

“I would like to say a big thank you to Morrisons for everything that they have done.”

Sophie’s spooky costume will be rolled out into Morrisons stores and stocked on shelves alongside other Morrisons Halloween outfits in October 2015. The costume will be available for six to 12- year-olds.

A Morrisons spokesman said: “Children are often very imaginative when it comes to creating and designing costumes for Halloween, so it’s great that we can get them involved in this design process.

“We felt Sophie’s idea really stood out and we couldn’t wait to bring it to life. We are really looking forward to seeing it on the shelves next year.”
