A REINDEER rodeo was one of the star attractions at the inaugural Wiltshire College Christmas Fair.

The fair, organised by students Thom Belk and Jenny Lawler, raised funds for the Stars Appeal Breast Cancer Unit Campaign.

It took place on Thursday and also included live music, an arts auction and a number of stalls.

The Stars Appeal campaign is backed by the Journal and aims to raise £750,000 for a dedicated breast care unit at Salisbury District Hospital. A new unit will offer faster diagnosis and treatment; and the best possible environment and experience for the 4,500 local women and men that the Salisbury breast team sees each year.

The Stars Appeal Christmas Raffle involves a chance to win a new £8,000 Kia Picanto, supplied by local car dealers FJ Chalke of Mere. There are also cash prizes of £500, £250 and five lots of £50 to be won.

The hospital charity is looking for volunteers to help sell tickets to their friends, family and colleagues. If you can help, call The Stars Appeal Office on 01722 429005.

Ticket stubs must be returned to the Stars Appeal by December 31 to be included in the draw, which will take place on January 12.

* The Stars Appeal’s campaign is one of the charities supported by Smith & Williamson, the accountancy and investment management group, this Christmas. It has donated £200 to the campaign.
