SEVENTEEN young musicians gave inspiring displays at a hotlycontested final at Downton’s Trafalgar School.
The school’s annual house music festival saw the audience entertained with a variety of instruments, including drums, clarinet, flute, guitar, piano and saxophone, as well as singing.
The winners of the lower school competition were Year 7 students Samby Anderson and Rory Packwood, from Clarendon House, on drums and guitar.
GCSE student Carlo Pecson also triumphed on piano.
Clarendon House pupils were announced overall winners.
Judge Petra Randall, who has a long association with Salisbury Area Young Musicians, said: “I am always impressed with the standard of musicianship and talent at The Trafalgar School, and this was no exception.
“It’s the variety and diverse nature of the performances which really captivated me.”
The school choir also performed, singing Pharrell Williams’ Happy as well as Ray Henderson’s Bye-Bye Blackbird.
