WAITROSE Cookery School has opened its doors to the public for the first time following a refurbishment of the store.
It is only the second one in the country and is part of a number of unique features in the store that also has a wine tasting area and juicing station as part of the redesign.
The school is located behind the cafe and contains state of the art equipment with sessions designed for all abilities.
Along with best-selling courses from London, such as bread making, knife skills and world street food, the school will introduce new style one-hour mini master classes.
The skill-based courses will concentrate on one classic recipe and offer a taster to the school.
Karen Himsworth, manager of the Waitrose Cookery School, said: “We know there is a real passion for cooking in Salisbury and a community of food lovers.
“The new cookery school gives us the opportunity to build on the success of the previous studio and enables us to inspire more customers to enhance their kitchen skills.
“It’s fantastic to be able to open our second ever school here and we hope our diverse range of courses will attract people of all abilities.”
The Journal was given the opportunity to try out a taster course at the school and just from the short session that we were given I felt like I took away new skills and ideas.
The chefs were really helpful and took lots of time to explain each recipe thoroughly, I have even tried the Moroccan chicken at home and it tasted as good second time round without supervision.
Vouchers that are available at waitrose.com/home/inspiration.ht ml and would make an excellent last-minute Christmas present.
