WILTSHIRE police have released an image of the man they want to speak to in relation to a bin fire near the Muslim Association of Salisbury on Wilton Road.

It was one of two fires that occurred in the city on Sunday, January 18 with the mosque being struck at about 2am before another fire had to be extinguished at Ashley Wood Recovery, Churchfields Industrial Estate at around 9.30pm.

Following enquiries it has been established that three men were seen in the Wilton Road area at the time of the incident near to the Muslim Association. The three are later joined by a fourth man. Officers would like these people to come forward. They would particularly like to speak to a man wearing a light coloured hoodie.

It is clear that several vehicles passed this group of men as they walked towards the town centre and officers would also like to hear from any drivers who were travelling along Wilton Road between 1.30 an 2am on Sunday, January 18.

A CCTV image of three men officers would like to speak to in connection with the incident is above.

No damage was caused to nearby properties however significant damage was caused to two motorbikes at Ashley Wood Recovery.

Investigations into both incidents are ongoing and patrols have been increased in both areas. Officers are keeping an open mind as to the circumstances of the fires and whether these incidents are linked.
