THE Salisbury Information Centre has received a Gold Award at the South West Tourism Excellence Awards in Weston-Super-Mare.
At a ceremony last Thursday, held to recognise outstanding contribution to tourism across the South West, the centre won Gold in the Tourist Information Service of the Year category.
It beat off competition from Poole Welcome Centre, Bodmin Visitor Information Centre and Launceston Tourist Information Centre.
Judges awarded the gold with the following comments, “This is a fresh, inviting and functional Information Centre, with a good range of unique local retail, which is well displayed. The centre was very hospitable with a professional impression.”
