A NUMBER of suspicious white markings have been appearing on homes, garages and garden walls in Amesbury and Larkhill.
Police are worried that criminals are using these marks to identify potential targets. They are now asking residents to report any suspicious incidents or any sightings of these markings.
PCSO Will Todd said: “We would like members of the public to be vigilant and aware of any suspicious markings and take the usual precautions with their property.
“Homeowners are urged to mark valuables with security marking, take photographs of jewellery, china and other valuable items, record serial numbers of electrical goods, computers, and have pets micro-chipped.
“Always ensure that your doors and windows are locked at all times and be aware of strangers paying attention to your neighbours property. If you see someone acting suspiciously, report it immediately.”
Anyone with any information should call police on 101. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.
