A FORMER St Edmund's Girls' School student organised a fashion show in aid of charity as part of her sixth form studies.

Chingwan Chan, known as Cici, chose to hold the event for The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign and raised more than £400.

The student, who lives in Salisbury and now attends Winchester’s Peter Symonds College, said the fashion show was an extended project qualification topic.

She said: “As my main interests lie in fashion and business, my first thoughts were to do something fashion-related such as producing a magazine or writing a report.

“It didn’t take me long to realise, however, that a more hands-on task would be more interesting and I came up with the idea for a charity fashion show.

“This project has stretched me and tested my organisational skills to the extreme - I discovered first-hand about the pressures and pitfalls of organising an event, as well as the myriad of skills you need to do it.”

The event included ten female models who showcased designs by the college’s textiles students in addition to seven male volunteers who modelled suits loaned by Moss Bros.
