PUPILS from Stonehenge School took part in a national project to hone their reporting skills last week with the news reports being mentioned on BBC news website.
On Thursday 22 students from Years 7 to 10 participated in BBC School Report, the aim of which is to promote students interest in current affairs, enable the voices of young people to be heard and to experience being a journalist.
The students made real news reports based on local and national issues. They conducted a number of interviews and wrote reports.
The day culminated with The Stonehenge School's news bulletin for the day, which featured the main stories on GCSE changes, Top Gear, the eclipse and Motor Neurone Disease.
The students have received praise from staff and fellow students as well as being mentioned on the BBC news website at bbc.co.uk/news/live/education-31941889.
Hayley Blake, deputy subject leader for English, said: "Our students were a joy to work with and an absolute credit to the school. We look forward to running the project again next year."
