GB athlete Emily Diamond gave children a glimpse of her tough training schedule when she led a fitness session at Pitton Primary School.
The 23-year-old, who competes in the 200m and 400m, spoke about how she became an athlete, her training and the various sporting events she has been involved with.
She then organised a fitness circuit for the whole school to try out - a cut back version of what forms her daily fitness regime.
It included press ups, star jumps and bench work.
The event was organised by Sport for Schools, which is running programmes across the country aimed at inspiring children across the UK to get involved in sport.
The programme operates through a fundraising initiative in which children are encouraged to obtain sponsorship to take part in and complete the fitness circuits.
Part of the money raised goes back to the scheme to help support the athletes in their training and to cover the costs of organising each event. The rest goes to the school.
Pitton School said it would be using the funds to buy sports equipment. For more details visit sportforschools.org
