THE Teenage Market is on in Salisbury today (Saturday) with stalls ranging from cakes and cushions to jewellery and photography.

Organised by Salisbury City Council, the markets encourage young entrepreneurs to try out their business ideas and sell creative products and services.

Free of charge, it gives a platform to those between the age of 12 and 25, from young painters, fashion designers, jewellery makers, graffiti artists, photographers and graphic designers to young vintage collectors, bakers, make up artists and more.

Emily Hopkins, 17, from Salisbury, makes jewellery from recycled beads and colourful decorations made from felt.

She said: "This a a hobby of mine which I do when I'm not studying at college."

Photographer Shannon Maxim, 18, from Andover, said: "This is my first market in Salisbury because it was cancelled last time due to the bad weather."

Other stallholders included 25-year-old Daisy Amy with aprons, purses and scarves she had made, and 12-year-old Erin Doherty, who makes picture boards, bows and cushions.

The market is also hosting a range of live performance including music, dance and skate board demonstrations.
