DURING their recent Op HERRICK commemoration weekend Larkhill based 32 Regiment RA saw the unveiling of the new Regimental painting which captures the fourteen operational tours of Afghanistan completed by the Regiment.

The painting, entitled The Longest Watch, puts the soldiers at the heart of the subject, rather than focussing on the equipments used throughout the campaign.

No single painting could ever hope to capture every soldier’s experiences whilst deployed with Unmanned Arial Vehicles, so The Longest Watch distils the campaign to an image which is inherently simple, something to which everyone can relate.

The artist, Stuart Brown, was invited to attend the Officer’s Mess reunion dinner after which the Officers viewed the painting and placed the first few orders of the print run which is limited to 400.
