ENTRIES have been flooding in for a children's miniature baron painting competition and organisers have extended the deadline to Thursday (September 3).

Casa Fina teamed up with the Trussel Trust, Salisbury Craft and Heritage Festival and Splash of Colour to launch the competition.

Organisers say Splash of Colour have been inundated with children booked in to paint their barons.

Get in quick though - any barons painted there today will be ready in time for the Thursday deadline.

However, the barons can still be painted at home using acrylics and sealing spray to finish.

There are three categories - under eight, 8-12, and 13-18.

The miniature pottery barons can be bought from Casa Fina, Fisherton Mill, Framemakers and Salisbury Information Centre then can be taken to Splash of Colour in Fisherton Street to be painted. Alternatively, they can be painted at home.

Judging will take place on September 4.

Each winner will receive a Salisbury Magna Carta mug and a £15 Splash of Colour voucher. The overall winner will receive a family ticket to the craft and heritage festival on September 5 and 6.
