A SALISBURY woman chopped off her locks to boost funds to support cancer sufferers and their families.

Julie Sinnett has raised more than £300 for Macmillan Cancer Support after taking part in the charity's Brave the Shave campaign.

She had plenty of support from family and friends on Friday at Nicholas hair salon, Wilton Road. Her friend Natasha Marsh, who has her hair cut short, had her head shaved to support Julie on the day.

"I've never had it that short before," said Julie. "I wanted to give something back to Macmillan for the help they gave my family."

Julie was inspired to take part in the head shave in memory of her nan Phyllis White who died in December 2014.

She has thanked everyone for their generosity and support.
