A BOXER who battered two men after a cocaine deal went wrong has been jailed for five years.

Oliver Cutting, 24, admitted two charges of causing grievous bodily harm at Winchester Crown Court on Friday.

The victims suffered a fractured eye socket, cheek bone and jaw in the attack which Judge Keith Cutler described as “an incident of enormous violence”.

Jake Patterson and Ben Moore met Cutting in Ludgershall on the evening of August 3, 2014.

Cutting said he could get them cocaine and took them back to a flat with him.

Prosecuting, Claire Marlow said Cutting seemed “on edge and erratic” as they waited for the drugs to arrive.

Mr Patterson started playing a guitar, which angered Cutting.

He snatched the guitar and attacked the men, punching Mr Moore in the face twice, knocking him out.

He then turned on Mr Patterson, knocking him down, before punching and kicking in the ribs.

The victims tried to escape but Cutting “pulled them back and punched and kicked them again”, the court heard.

He kept them in the flat for about an hour before they were allowed to leave.

Cutting then offered to drive the victims home, but dumped them “in the middle of nowhere” in Ford.

A passing driver found them and called the police and an ambulance.

Defending, Tristan Harwood said there had been a “degree of provocation” and this was a “pattern of behaviour” for Cutting, which had not been dealt with.

He said Cutting had “gone over the top in defending himself” and that continually asking about the drugs had set him off.

Judge Cutler said he did not accept it was “self defence” and there was “no provocation” for the “angry outburst”. And he said Cutting was lucky not to be facing charges of unlawful imprisonment.

Judge Cutler added: “They were dumped in an unlit country lane in the middle of the night suffering from such injuries they needed immediate medical attention, but that was not something that was on your mind.”

The court heard Mr Patterson had lost confidence after the attack, quit his job and moved away, while Mr Moore said his injuries had affected his appearance.
