A MUM of three has opened a new shop in Wilton dedicated to slings.
Sarah Brough who started her business Slingtastic online seven years ago has just opened the shop at Wilton Shopping Village.
She said: "There has been a growing demand for slings for children from newborn right through to pre-school since I started the website.
"Salisbury and the surrounding areas has a large community of sling users which is why the Facebook boards are full of groups like Stonehenge Slings and Salisbury Sling Library as people want to see, look at and try slings before they buy them.
"The shop is trying to bridge the gap between mainstream and alternative – as many people are quite worried about the safety and comfort of carriers bought outside the big mainstream stores.
"I have had three children and used a wide variety of slings with all of them, and the two other people helping in my shop also bring a wealth of sling-wearing experience and expertise to help parents.
"We also have a range of sling accessories, toys and organic clothing from Frugi for children from 0-4 years."
The shop - at Unit 10a - is also running workshops for parents in partnership with Heike Bailey, a trained babywearing consultant from Amesbury, one-to-one-consultations for people who want dedicated time to talk through their needs and general advice and opportunities to try slings within the shop opening hours.
It is open Tuesday to Saturday.
