A 72-YEAR-OLD woman had her bank card stolen after being asked for change money for parking in a city centre car park. The card was later used to buy a television in Argos.

The victim was approached by a woman, described as Eastern European, asking for change money in Central Car Park on Saturday, January 16. Following the exchange, the victim noticed her debit card was missing.

Later that day, two men bought a television from Argos in Fisherton Street, using the victim's debit card.

PC Mike Parrott said: "It is believed the Eastern European woman had watched the victim paying for items with the card in a shop in the city centre earlier that day.

"We are appealing for the public's help in identifying the two men and would like to remind shoppers to be security conscious when out shopping. Be aware of anybody approaching you asking to change money and ensure all bank cards are safely stored while shopping."

The first man is described as white, short, of slim build, wearing a knitted hat, dark jacket, jeans and black trainers.

The second man is described as having darker skin, tall, and was wearing a black heavy coat, with fur trim collar and black trousers.

Police would like to speak to the two men pictured in a CCTV image at Argos in connection with the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call PC Parrott at Salisbury Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
