A MOTORCYCLIST has died after a crash on the A36 yesterday (Thursday) near Landford.
The incident happened near the junction with Stock Lane at 5.45pm. It involved a red Nissan Juke and a black Aprilia 125 motorcycle.
The 23-year-old rider of the motorcycle, from the Romsey area, was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he later died. The driver of the Nissan car was uninjured.
The road was closed for about five hours.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward by calling 101.
PC Philip Tatum, of the Tri-Force Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are interested in speaking with anyone who was in the area of Landford during the time of this incident.
“If you witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle in the area please contact me.”
