THE crowds have been gathering in Amesbury today for the annual carnival and procession through the town.
The Amesbury Carnival regularly attracts thousands of spectators and this year many people donned superhero outfits for the theme of heroes.
The procession left Stonehenge School at 11.30am led by a Spiderman Band before entering Holders Field.
Today's show was the culmination of a week's worth of events and for the first time Amesbury Carnival hosted a music festival, which took place yesterday evening.
Events and displays are set to continue throughout the afternoon.
