A STATE of the art fitness suite is opening today in Tisbury.

The Nadder Centre's new leisure facilities suite is fitted with the latest smart technology to record and track progress.

The centre also hosts start-up business units, which provide business space and support for people looking to launch a new business or take the first step into their own office space.

The centre’s wider community facilities will be available from early September onwards and will include a library, an events hall with screen and sound/lights system, a dance studio, a cafe, and new pre-school accommodation with an outside play area.

John Thomson, cabinet member with responsibility for campuses, said: “I’m delighted that residents in the Tisbury area can now enjoy the new Nadder Centre and can use the range of facilities and services that this community hub offers.

“This centre is part of the council’s programme to invest £80m to provide vibrant community hubs across the county.”

Users will also be able to benefit from the newly refurbished adjacent outdoor swimming pool which is run by Tisbury Swimming Club and from September 5 Tisbury Pre-school will be based in the centre.

Tony Deane, chair of the South West Area Board, said: “We are delighted after careful planning with residents that our vision has now become a reality.

"This is a wonderful asset for Tisbury which I’m sure will be well used as it reflects the wishes of the local community and is providing a wide range of exciting facilities.”

To mark the opening of the new leisure facilities at Nadder Centre a free month will be offered to all new direct debit membership customers.

This offer applies to the end of Friday (August 26). People can visit the Nadder Centre and discuss becoming a member with the team on site.
