A MAN has been convicted of theft from an optician in Salisbury.
Peter Perity, 79, of no fixed address, was jailed for 28 weeks, with eight weeks relating to the theft from Vision Express in Butcher Row.
He stole ten pairs of glasses worth a total of more than £1,000 on the morning of October 7.
The suspect was arrested for similar offences by another force and was tried at Wellingborough Magistrates Court in December 2016.
PC Susan Malkinson said: "This case highlights the very real risk of a prison sentence and criminal record that those who steal are taking."
