A HOMELESS man was taken to hospital this morning after being assaulted by four youths in the early hours.
Police were called at 12.10am this morning after reports of the assault in Rollestone Street, Salisbury.
The offenders left the scene on foot going under the underpass towards Tollgate Road.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "Officers attended and carried out an area search but were unable to trace the individuals.
"The victim, a 50-year-old man, sustained chest pain and was taken to hospital by ambulance as a precaution.
"We’d like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident who has not already made contact with police."
