A 71-YEAR-OLD man was taken to hospital after a car crashed into the front door and wall of a house in Brown Street, Salisbury. 

The single vehicle crash, which involved a black Peugeot 3008, happened just before 9pm last night (Friday). 

Police say the Peugeot was driving south along Brown Street when it collided into the front door and wall of a house. 

The 71-year-old driver, from Hampshire, was taken to Southampton General Hospital. 

Officers at the scene closed Brown Street and Trinity Street. 

Two fire crews from Salisbury and Amesbury attended along with an operational support unit from Salisbury Fire Station.

Firefighters carried out an inspection of the property and made the scene safe. 
Two rapid response vehicles, one ambulance and an air ambulance also attended. 

South Western Ambulance Service say a male casualty was unconscious at the scene. He was flown to hospital by air ambulance. 

Police at the scene closed Brown Street and Trinity Street.
