Over 1400 boys, girls, men and women ran the 2017 Salisbury Schools’ Mini Marathon.

Youngsters aged from seven to eleven and adults ran the race which took place on Saturday.

The event which is run by St Andrews school has five races, with around 300 children participating in each of the under 9 girls, under 11 girls, under 9 boys and under 11 boys races, with a further 250 adults running in their race.

First over the line for the under 9 boys was Joseph Holme (St Marks), followed by Toby Halsy (St Marks) and Jacob Reading (Harnham) in third place.

In the girls under 9 Catherine Payne (New Forest) came in first, with Phoebe Fitzgerald (Harnham) second and Sophie Buck (Sarum St Pauls) third.

In the adult categories, Andrew Holme (St Marks) was the first man back followed by Richard Payne (Winterbourne Earls) and then Duncan Walling (New Forest), and Polly Jacobs (Harnham) was the first woman back, then Katie Clements (Harnham) and Rebecca Clark (Harnham).

In the under 11 girls race Neve East (Whiteparish) came in first, with Sophie Makin (Woodford Valley) in second and then Annabel Dugwell (Sarum St Pauls) came in third position.

Finally Otto Jenner (New Forst) finished first in the boys under 11 group, and Seb Hill (Downton) coming second and Max Spiller (Alderbury) finishing in third place.
