A NUMBER of cannabis plants have been found growing outside in a Harnham meadow.

PCSO Jamie Boyland was out on bike patrol when he came across four plants in the Middle Street Meadow area after being alerted by a member of the public yesterday (Thursday, June 15).

On Facebook Salisbury police said: "Salisbury Police are appealing to any keen botanists that may have left these exotic plants in the Middle Street Meadow area of Harnham.

"Unfortunately for you, cultivation of these plants is illegal and we have destroyed them. If you wish to dispute this then pop on down to Bourne Hill Police Station and we will happily have a chat with you."

A police spokesman added: "Unfortunately there is no information to link the plants to any individual and we ask that anyone who can help comes forward. We would like to thank the member of the public who reported the matter."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
