SALISBURY'S first civic day is taking place today (Saturday) in the Guildhall.
The event aims to celebrate the city, its buildings and environment.
It sees a number of organisations come together with Salisbury Civic Society.
Throughout the day there will be a number of stalls and exhibitions on Salisbury’s historic buildings, natural environment and development issues.
Local architects will also have a “surgery” where people can drop in to discuss architectural issues and challenges, and seek their professional advice.
Among the organisations taking part will be the Harnham Water Meadows Trust, Friends of St Thomas's Church, Arundells, Fisherton Local History Society and Friends of Salisbury Cathedral.
Admission is free and everyone is welcome to attend the event which runs from 10am to 4pm.
