HORATIO'S Garden in Salisbury will be open to the public on tomorrow (Sunday, July 23) as part of the National Gardens Scheme.
The award-winning garden built for patients at the spinal centre at Salisbury District Hospital was designed by Cleve West, who returns each season to review and update the planting.
A team of volunteers, led by the head gardener, maintain Horatio’s Garden year-round, keeping the planting true to Cleve’s vision.
Cleve West has won eight RHS gold medals and was awarded Best in Show for his Chelsea Flower Show gardens in 2011 and 2012. He received three Society of Garden Designers awards in 2015 for his design of Horatio’s Garden.
Horatio’s Garden will be open from 2-5pm with a talk by the head gardener at 3pm.
There will be teas and delicious homemade cakes.
And the gardening team will be on-hand to answer questions and talk about the therapeutic benefits of Horatio’s Garden.
Visitors can enjoy Fiamma Colonna Montagu’s ceramic sculptures that are currently on exhibition in the garden.
Entry costs just £5 (children free) to benefit the charitable causes chosen by the National Garden Scheme and Horatio’s Garden.
