A MAN died in a crash on the A36 yesterday.

Wiltshire Police say a local man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near Codford yesterday afternoon.

One ambulance, three rapid response vehicles and an air ambulance were called to the scene of the crash just after 1pm.

The road around Codford was closed in both directions, causing traffic delays, as emergency services attended the scene.

A grey Vauxhall Zafira had left the road and crashed into a field.

A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service had previously told the Journal they had treated one male casualty who was taken to Salisbury District Hospital.
