AN investigation has been launched to find a runaway driver who collided with a sign and dragged it meters down a Salisbury road.

The collision took place shortly before 8.20pm on December 10, a black Audi was being driven along Wilton Road towards Salisbury when it collided with a large sign on the forecourt of Bargain Booze.

The driver continued driving along Wilton Road with the sign attached to the underneath of the vehicle and then turned left onto Canadian Avenue, before coming to a stop.

The occupants of the vehicle - believed to be two men - then left the scene.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We are looking for any witnesses to the incident - were you near Bargain Booze at the time or in the area of Wilton Road and Canadian Avenue? You could help with our investigation.”
