THE Stars Appeal is offering people the chance of a lifetime while supporting its latest campaign.

The hospital charity’s next fundraising trek will be the Great Wall of China in April 2019, to raise money for a second MRI scanner.

Jayne Prigent, owner of salon group Jas Hair, has taken part in three previous treks and been part of a team who have raised more than £100,000 for the Stars Appeal.

Jayne said: “We are a local business, with a philosophy of supporting our team, local community and local businesses.

“The Stars Appeal fitted our ethos and many of our family and friends and salon guests have needed the hospital for many different reasons.

“What we love about the Stars Appeal is that it supports projects for all sorts of patients – from very tiny babies to the elderly, and people with cancer, diabetes, cardiac problems and so many more.”

Money raised from the Great Wall of China Trek will go towards a new MRI machine for Salisbury District Hospital, providing faster and more accurate diagnoses for patients.

Jayne added: “As we start a new year, full of good intentions, I would urge anyone who wants to support the MRI Scanner Campaign and to challenge themselves to join us on our next trek to China in 2019.”

An information evening on the trek will be held at The White Hart on Thursday, January 18.

Trekkers pay a non-refundable deposit of £399 when they register, and pledge to raise at least £1,410 for the Stars Appeal on top of the costs of their trek (which they can pay for themselves or include in their fundraising).
