MORE than £31,000 has been raised for the Stars Appeal in a Christmas raffle - and one lucky winner has come away with a brand new car.
The money will go towards buying a second MRI machine for Salisbury District Hospital.
The raffle was drawn on Tuesday by consultant surgeon and chairman of the MRI scanner campaign, Graham Branagan, and George Chalke of FJ Chalke Mere who supplied the top prize at a heavily-discounted rate.
The winner of a brand new Kia Picanto was Mrs Senior, from Frome in Somerset.
Other winners include Mrs Knight of Shrewton, who won £1,000 and D Sidpri from Wembley Park who won £500.
And G Otterwell of Codford, Mr Bull of Firsdown, T King of Salisbury, Mrs Smith of Salisbury and C Shering of Fordingbridge all won £50 each.
A spokesman for the Stars Appeal thanked everyone who bought and sold tickets, and FJ Chalke for their continued support.
