THE mother of a three-year-old girl who drowned in Fordingbridge will face charges for her murder tomorrow.

Bethan Colebourn was airlifted to Salisbury District Hospital after officers attended her home in Whitsbury Road on October 19, but died there later that night.

Police have today revealed Bethan's cause of death to be drowning.

Her mother, Claire Colebourn, 36, will appear in Winchester Crown Court to face a murder charge tomorrow.

Emergency services rushed to the family's detached home in Fordingbridge following a report of a 'concern for welfare' in October.

Bethan was treated at the bungalow, where it is understood she lived with her mother, and then flown by air ambulance in a life threatening condition.

Floral tributes and a Minnie Mouse toy were left outside the address in the day's following Bethan's death.

After her funeral, her family said they were devastated by the tragic loss.

“Bethan brought so much happiness and joy to so many people’s lives," they said in a statement.

“Bethan was a fun loving, adventurous and caring young girl who will be dearly missed.

“She will be in our hearts and minds forever.”
