DOGS Trust Salisbury's annual fun day proved to be a "pawsome" success - raising more than £10,000.

The event took place at the charity's rehoming centre in Newton Tony on Sunday, June 10.

The highlight of the day was the fun dog show, where Cockerpoo Asher scooped the accolade of Best in Show.

There was also have-a-go agility, a grand raffle, giant tombola and games.

Dogs Trust Salisbury’s supporter relations officers Lucy Hooper said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to the local community and all of the supporters who turned up to help us raise money for the dogs in our care. We’d also like to say a huge thank you to anyone who donated raffle and tombola prizes. Their generosity made a huge contribution to the overall success of the day, allowing us to have another successful fun day.

“It was wonderful to see so many people and of course not forgetting all our four-legged-friends who attended — many of which were ex-residents that we were so happy to see doing so well.”

The fun day raised £12,000 with money still being counted.

This will go towards helping the rehoming centre to continue providing care for homeless and abandoned dogs.
