FANTASTIC flowers and a vast variety of veg were on show at the Coombe Bissett & Homington Flower Show on Saturday.
The annual show is affiliated with the Royal Horticultural Society, and one outstanding gardener was presented with the Society’s Banksian medal for scoring the most points in all the classes.
Ron Shorland has competed in the show for many years and this year he won many of the classes at the show, as well as Best in Section for the vegetable, fruit and flower and pot plant sections of the show.
The show’s judge, Dr David Manston, especially praised Mr Shorland’s begonia in the plant pot section, which he considered to be of national show standard.
