POLICE have renewed appeals for witnesses and information after an Australian bird was stolen from a pet shop in Porton.
The 18-week-old pink and grey Galah was stolen from Porton Pet and Aquatic Centre on July 25 between 4.30pm and 5pm by a young man.
The teenager, who has dark hair and was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans, was with an older woman and a younger boy when he entered the shop, forcibly removed the padlock from a cage and put the bird in a carrier bag before leaving.
They are believed to have left the area in an older style Renault Megane, which was either silver or light blue in colour.
The woman had two-tone hair, blonde on top and dark underneath, tied up in a ponytail and she was wearing a white top and long white skirt.
The boy, who was outside the store, is described to be in his early teens and was wearing a royal blue t-shirt and dark trousers.
PC Charlotte Amos from Wiltshire Police said: “I am keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the theft or who knows the identity of these three people.
“I would also like to speak to anyone who has purchased a Galah since the July 25 as these birds are very valuable and we are investigating the possibility that it has been sold.”
She can be contacted on 0845 408 7000. Alternatively, information may be left anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
