FLEET of five vans and 10 staff from World of Furniture delivered Foodbank Christmas Hampers to Salisbury families in crisis just before Christmas.
This year The Trussell Trust gave out 250 Christmas hampers full of festive food to local families struggling to make ends meet and thanks to Journal readers, the trust was also able to give out Christmas presents alongside the food.
Foodbank manager Mark Ward said: ‘This year Salisbury Foodbank has given out more Christmas Hampers to local families who are facing tough times than ever. It’s a difficult time of year for many and the recent cold snap has made making ends meet even more challenging for people living on the breadline. The Trussell Trust would like to thank local people and businesses who donated enough festive food to enable 250 Salisbury families to have a happier Christmas this year.
“All at the trust would also like to say a special thank you to World of Furniture for helping to deliver the Christmas Hampers, it’s such a busy time of year for the foodbank so extra help makes a huge difference. We’d also like to thank Salisbury Journal readers whose generosity meant we were able to give out Christmas presents as well as food to some of Salisbury’s neediest families.”
