ADVENTUROUS youngsters took on a weekend of challenging activities when they learnt how to put up tents and prepare to camp under canvas for the first time.
Twenty five challenges kept the excited children busy and reminded them of the Beaver Scouts’ 25th anniversary taking place this year.
The boys and girls aged six to eight and from colonies in Laverstock, Wilton, Bemerton, Harnham and Salisbury all had a go at archery, ballista making, adventure courses and crafts as well as preparing healthy meals for themselves.
A camp fire sing-a-long and a mug of hot cocoa kept the spirits high as they retired for the night at the Wiltshire Scout Centre.
