THIS Sunday is Wiltshire’s seventh Emergency Services Show and this year's event promises to be the biggest and best yet.
As well as bringing together the county’s blue light services, the show raises thousands of pounds for charities that support the work of the emergency services, with more than £17,000 being donated in 2010 alone.
The show is again being held at Hullavington airfield, off J17 of the M4 near Chippenham, and runs from 10am until 4pm.
Amongst the attractions this year are: • The South West regional police dog trials (running all day).
• Demonstrations by Wiltshire Police's drugs dogs and Great Western Ambulance Service's Hazardous Area Response Team.
• A display by Cricklade and Ludgershall Fire Cadets.
• Ongoing demonstrations of heavy vehicle recovery.
• The official Top Gear simulator experience.
• A road traffic collision extrication display.
• A parachute display by the Silver Stars (weather permitting).
• Two air ambulances.
• An It’s A Knockout tournament in aid of Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
• A wide range of new and vintage emergency vehicles.
Visitors will also be able to meet with their local firefighters, police officers and paramedics, to find out more about the work of the emergency services in Wiltshire and beyond.
Tickets are £5 for adults, £2.50 for children under 16 and free for children under three. For further information visit www.emergencyservicesshow.com.
