A COMPETITION winning display from a townswomen’s guild is on show for all to enjoy in the window of a Salisbury shop.
Members of Bemerton Towswomen’s Guild created a display of the 12 days of Christmas using 16 different crafts and entered it in a craft competition in Romsey for the mid Hants and Wiltshire area.
Betty Horne, Gwen Brocksom, Valerie Cannings, Doreen Bryant, Verbena Greenough, Jean Kirkman, Roz Merritt and Joyce Legg won the Joyce Preddle craft cup and their handiwork will now being displayed in the window of Franklins Sewing Centre in Fisherton Street until November 28.
The project took them three months, but the hard work was worth it as they were awarded a top score of 50, scoring ten out of ten in the five categories, and the judges said it had “the wow factor”.
