CHILDREN in Mere are saying bonjour to a new fun French club at their school. Year 6 students at Mere Primary School have been using hand puppets to help the younger children try out their language skills.
Headteacher Catriona Williamson said: “We are extremely fortunate to be based in such a spacious modern building, with plenty of room to accommodate all these additional activities. Children can take part in all manner of clubs, from art and craft to cookery, dance, chess and hockey.
“The clubs are great fun, allowing children to try new things and succeed in a different area. They socialise with pupils from different classes and year groups and make new friends, boosting their self confidence.”
