THE Trussell Trust is asking people to give up 40p a day for Lent to help feed local families struggling to put food on the table this Easter.
The Lent Appeal is a way to help meet the growing need for emergency food, making sure that parents aren’t forced to skip meals to stop their children from going to bed hungry.
Collecting 40p per day during Lent, together with a 10p a day gift aid, will produce £20 which is enough to feed a family in crisis from Good Friday to Easter Sunday.
Cheques can be sent to The Trussell Trust, Unit 9 Ashfield Trading Estate, Salisbury, SP2 7HL.
